Call for papers - The crisis of expertise and the making of public policy
The Melbourne School of Government (MSoG) at the University of Melbourne invites proposals for papers relevant to the topic: ‘The Crisis of Expertise and the Making of Public Policy’. We invite the submission of abstracts on topics pertinent to our 2018 conference themes. We are interested in contributions both from scholars and policy practitioners. We encourage submissions from all disciplines and across disciplines, including explorations of policymaking in particular cases (such as health, environment, energy and so on) and how expertise has been deployed and contested within these. We also encourage submissions addressing some of the issues of expertise more conceptually.
The conference themes are:
- Expertise, knowledge and society
- Expertise and policymaking in practice
- Innovation and experimentation related to re-thinking expertise & policymaking
To have your abstract considered for acceptance, please submit before the abstract deadline of 5th November 2017 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Abstracts are to be a maximum of 300 words. Authors of accepted abstracts will be given a speaking slot at the conference to present their paper. Further details available at http://arts.unimelb.edu.au/e/expertiseconference2018.
