Master of Applied Policy
The UTS Master of Applied Policy has been designed by leading thinkers and practitioners with the aim of supporting the next generation of policymakers. The course achieves academic rigour while enabling participants to learn about what policy demands in its practical application.
The course is designed for professionals who work or want to work in policy, but most importantly it is a course for exceptional people hoping to achieve exceptional results.
The course will build your critical capabilities and your analytical skills. It will expand your networks and lift your confidence. It will enable you to take your career to the next level. It will equip you with skills to develop, implement and evaluate policy in practical contexts.
You will learn how to engage with practical problems through debates, case studies, group discussions, presentations and guest speakers. Designed to provide a balance between applied and theoretical learning, the course enables students to examine policy from multiple perspectives.
The course is designed to provide professionals working in the government and/or NGO sector with a combination of academic rigour and applied experience. Graduates will be able to confidently lead policy development, implementation and evaluation in their organisation. The course offers flexibility with a wide range of electives, and a combination of face-to-face block teaching days and online educational delivery.
The UTS Applied Policy postgraduate program consists of three progressive courses with flexible entry and exit points. If you want to progress through the courses rather than enrol directly in the Master of Applied Policy, our courses offer this flexibility. The Graduate Certificate in Applied Policy progresses into the Graduate Diploma in Applied Policy, which can progress into the Master of Applied Policy. The course is delivered in a mix of on-campus block mode and online study. The course can be commenced in either March or July session.
The UTS Institute for Public Policy and Governance Postgraduate Scholarship is open for application in both sessions. Valued at $5,000, the Scholarship has been designed to support Master students seeking to broaden their knowledge and skills through postgraduate study.
