General practice and the New Zealand health reforms: lessons for Australia?

Although there was initial widespread support for the philosophy underlying New Zealand's new Primary Health Care Strategy, there are concerns amongst general practitioners and their professional organisations relating to its implementation, although many GPs are feeling positive regarding the new Primary Health Organisations. Australia has much to learn from New Zealand's latest health sector and primary health care reforms, according to Brian R. McAvoy and Gregor D. Coster.
