Technological disruption in private housing markets: the case of Airbnb

A research project by UNSW’s City Futures Research Centre, with Swinburne University’s Centre for Urban Transitions.

Researchers at UNSW Sydney (The University of New South Wales) and Swinburne University are seeking volunteer research participants in Sydney and Melbourne to discuss their motivations and experiences as Airbnb hosts. The aim of the project is to understand how Airbnb is reshaping the ways we access and use housing in these cities.

We’re looking for Airbnb hosts to participate in a 30 minute interview who are:

  • At least 18 years old; and
  • Have advertised a property in Sydney or Melbourne on (either currently or in the past)

Participants interviewed will receive a Coles/Myer gift card worth $50 in recognition of their time.
