Description

Cancer is one of the leading cause of death in Australia, and patients living in regional and rural areas experience poorer health outcomes than their city counterparts. USQ researchers are working on several joint initiatives with partners including Cancer Council Queensland and Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia to improve cancer survivorship and quality of life for regional Queenslanders. The study, called ‘Travelling for Cancer Treatment’ (Building Regional Resilience in Cancer Control), will pay particular attention to the experience of cancer patients in regional Queensland, from cancer screening through to clinical management, as well as medical and psycho-social support received over the five-years after diagnosis.
