AHURI, in partnership with Homelessness Australia, will convene the National Homelessness Conference 2018—Ending Homelessness Together, in Melbourne on Mon 6 and Tue 7 August 2018, as part of Homelessness Week 2018. It has been four years since the last National Homelessness Conference, and with the imminent release of 2016 Census data on homelessness and the development of a new National Housing and Homelessness Agreement, it is an appropriate time to revive this critical national event.
The Conference will bring together policy makers and practitioners from across Australia to learn, engage and network together. We are delighted to invite you to join us at this major national event and be part of the conversation aimed at ending homelessness in Australia.
The National Homelessness Conference theme in 2018 is ‘Ending homelessness together’ and the program will enable delegates to learn and share on a broad range of issues related to homelessness including housing models that end homelessness; responding to the causes of homelessness such as domestic and family violence; specialist support such as working with clients with disability, mental health issues and people leaving custody; outcomes reporting; social and affordable housing policy and financial inclusion.
The Conference will feature a range of speakers including international experts, national and state policy makers and practitioners from around Australia. The focus will be not only on current policy and practice but also how we can collaborate and commit to ending homelessness at a national, state and local level. Come and be part of this exciting forum that will assist in delivering action to end homelessness.
