This information paper identifies the agreed priorities and action for information development in the area of Arts and Cultural Heritage. The paper also identifies gaps in available data and provides recommendations for addressing these data gaps. Recommendations will be implemented collaboratively by the ABS and other key producers of Arts and Cultural Heritage data over the next 3 to 5 years.
This information paper, has been developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics' (ABS) National Centre for Culture and Recreation Statistics (NCCRS) in consultation with the Cultural Ministers Council Statistics Working Group (CMCSWG). The aim of the Information Development Plan (IDP) is to guide future directions for statistical data development and research relevant to arts and cultural heritage. It is based on a shared understanding of the key policy imperatives and agreement on the areas of priority.
