Research at the University of South Australia has been positioned around six key themes to ensure we can deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that respond to the most pressing needs of our world today. One of the themes of research is ‘An Age Friendly World’ which will shed light on how individuals at every stage in the life course can achieve their potential. To ensure we can deliver innovative and sustainable solutions, the School of Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy is introducing the Bachelor of Social Science (Ageing and Disability) program from 2019. 

An opportunity exists for a dynamic Professor of Social Work/Social Policy to provide leadership and support in the Ageing and Disability discipline, lead the development of curriculum in healthy ageing and disability services, and strengthen research capacity by building partnerships with national and international industry and peak bodies. 

As a leader in Social Work/Social Policy, you will be committed to supporting the School’s teaching and learning in ways that will enhance the student experience. With a sustained track of personal research activity and academic leadership, you will have experience in innovative teaching and an active engagement in industry and community outreach activities, with knowledge in ageing and disability.
