Kim Markwell


Senior Environmental Scientist

Kim’s freshwater ecology and waterway management expertise have developed from her post graduate research with the Australian Rivers Institute. Kim applies this expertise to integrate innovative water management strategies into master planning and design projects to protect and enhance ecological systems as well as create vibrant, liveable and sustainable communities.

Through her collaboration with designers, Kim has been instrumental in the development of highly effective visual communication tools which have assisted her clients to gain support and momentum to transition South East Queensland towards being a water sensitive city.

Kim has also been involved in the development of industry training programs and contributed to design guidelines to promote the adoption of water sensitive urban design within Queensland.
