University funding freeze to hit regional campuses hardest

14 Jun 2018
Description

Universities struck by a Federal Government funding freeze will be forced to go without up to 15 per cent of their base funding.

Data obtained by the ABC reveals regional universities will be hit hard, the impact greater than Australia's top-ranked institutions, raising fears of skills shortages in rural areas.

Vice-Chancellors are now threatening to slash the number of places they offer and to cut campus services.
