Delivering health services to remote places

20 Feb 2012
Description

The Rural Doctors Association has put forward a long list of policy changes it would like to see to attract more doctors to Australia's isolated towns and communities.

It has asked for a change to the classification sysytem for defining rural and remote doctors and new incentives to encourage doctors to relocate to regional areas. It is calling for adequate training, the provision of infrastructure including suitable housing and equipment, and increased professional development.
