The Australian values education framework: no justification required?

In a critique of the Australian values education project Sue Knight and Carol Collins argue that as it stands, the required ‘common values’ approach cannot succeed in developing students’ capacity for sound moral judgement. While those of us who have been working in this area for many years welcome this emphasis on and support for moral education, we want to argue that the Australian Common Values approach has some serious shortcomings.
