Since November 2011 I have had the challenging and rewarding role of CEO in the Aboriginal community of Yalata in SA. In this role I am also the Executive Officer for the Yalata Community Council and the community’s commercial interests – Yalata Community Store Pty Ltd and Yalata Enterprises Pty Ltd.
My skills cover all aspect of management: finance, HR, strategy and planning, operational, administration, marketing, grant management, event management, governance as well as client and government relations. I am a self-motivated hands-on leader with an entrepreneurial approach.
I hold an MBA and other management qualifications in commercialisation, business strategy and recreation planning and management. I am a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and was Mentor of the Year in the 2003 SA Enterprise Workshop. I am currently udertaking a Doctorate of Business Administration. My study is exploring the tension between government policy and localised strategic development in the remote Aboriginal community of Yalata.
