Australia predicted to miss 2030 emissions reduction target without policy change

Australia will have to prevent close to two years' worth of emissions from reaching the atmosphere if it's to meet the government's climate targets for 2030. 

That's the view of environmental groups, based on the most recent emissions data just released by the federal government.

It shows emissions rose by just under one per cent in the year to June, and Australia is in danger of missing its 2030 target, but the government is still confident its policies are working.
