Homes for Victorians

Affordability, access and choice
3 March 2017

Homes for Victorians is the Victorian Government’s response to the housing affordability crisis in Victoria.

Housing for Victorians is a record investment by the Victorian government in social and affordable housing, changing taxes and concessions, and providing certainty in planning and housing supply to ensure the best housing outcomes for Victorians across the State.

It will allow Victorians to have more choice about where they live and enable them to make a home that reflects their priorities and enables participation in work, education and their communities.

Homes for Victorians outlines the delivery of the government's biggest ever investment into homelessness services and social housing. This will ensure that vulnerable Victorians are able to access a safe and stable home more quickly to provide the security they need to get back on their feet.

To deliver such a significant social housing response the Victorian government will need to work closely with our partners in the community housing, homelessness, finance and property development sectors.
