ACCAN call for Expressions of Interest: Independent Grants Panel

How to Submit an Expression of Interest

If you would like to make an Expression of Interest to join the Panel, please write a short statement (no longer than 3 pages) addressing the selection criteria and submit this with your curriculum vitae (CV) to nominations@accan.org.au by COB on 15 January 2010.

ACCAN Grants Program

The information below describes the annual ACCAN Grants Program which will operate from 2010 until 2013. It explains the objectives and timeframes for the program and for the establishment of a 3 person panel to assess grant applications. Nominations for the panel are called for.

As part of its agreement with the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, ACCAN will be administering a Grants program in accordance with s593 of the Telecommunications Act 1997.

The objectives of the program will be to produce research into social, economic, environmental or technological implications of developments relating to consumers and communications OR representation of the interests of consumer in relation to communications issues. ACCAN will be seeking to fund projects that assist us achieve our vision and strategic goals. A copy of the Strategic Plan can be found at on our website.

Applications for these funds will open January 20th, 2009. Round One Applications will close February 18th and Round Two will close March 18th 2009. Round One Projects must be completed by 30 June 2010 and Round Two Projects will not commence until 1 July 2010 and be completed by 30 June 2011. The program has a total budget of $101,600 for Round One and $250,000 for Round Two.

Announcements about the Guidelines and the deadlines for applications will be made through the ACCAN web news, website and via media release and sent to all ACCAN members by email. These emails will be responded to after the 18th of January, 2009.
