Consumer Dementia Research Network

06 July 2010Alzheimer’s Australia is looking for individuals with dementia and family carers who are interested in being actively involved in all stages of dementia research as part of the Consumer Dementia Research Network.  Members of the network will be involved in setting funding priorities, monitoring projects and communicating findings. The network will meet face-to-face at least once a year and have regular communication through email and teleconferences. Members will provide their perspective on what matters to consumers and are not expected to be experts in research. On 18 November 2011, Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Senator the Hon Kate Lundy, announced the establishment of an independent panel of eminent community leaders to conduct an inquiry into Australian Government services to ensure they are responsive to the needs of Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
