29 June, 2012
29 June 2012 | In this report, the council focuses on the outcomes in the Agreement that relate to home purchase affordability, rental affordability, and housing market efficiency and responsiveness. The council found that nationally, based on the indicators and years that can be reported on, there is no indication that housing affordability has improved. Rental affordability in particular – as measured by the proportion of low income households spending more than 30 per cent of their income on rent – has worsened in capital cities and for those on the lowest incomes.
