01 February 2010This CFA commissioned research provides insight into the perceptions and intentions of households within bushfire prone areas over the current fire season.

A random telephone survey of 408 households in 52 Victorian townships was undertaken in mid December 2009.   Among other things, it found that one third of households still plan to stay in their homes on code red (catastophic) days - against CFA advice.
