| HTML | Disruption of parental relationships, current family circumstances and children's psychological adjustment |
24 February 2005Using data from the Children and Family Life study, Sarah Wise and Ben Edwards compare 921 children aged 5-13 years living with either a separated parent in a single-parent family, a separated parent in a step/blended family, or both natural parents, on a measure of psychological adjustment. They also explore the extent to which economic, family-process, parental-distress and parental-absence theoretical frameworks explain any negative effects of separation.
