17 April 2008This study was undertaken by Global Learning Services for the 2007 Research and Policy Advice
Project of the national training system's e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework). It aimed to provide a portrait of the current situation in Australia in the role and use of e-learning in training for mature age workers, and to identify good practice.

To achieve this objective, the study involved three parts: a literature review; consultations in all states and territories; and the conduct of four case studies. The study was designed to lead to the development of guidelines for good practice in harnessing e-learning for mature age workers.
