Economic modelling of climate change impacts and adaptation

01 July 2010This paper discusses the quantitative economic analysis of climate change impacts and adaptation options. It argues that three important features are needed: representation of uncertainty about impacts, in particular the risk of abrupt climate change; fuller representation of economic impacts from climate change and inclusion of non-market impacts; and modelling of equity dimensions.

On 18 November 2011, Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Senator the Hon Kate Lundy, announced the establishment of an independent panel of eminent community leaders to conduct an inquiry into Australian Government services to ensure they are responsive to the needs of Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

A number of community focussed citizens from across Australia are planning a two day meeting in Melbourne in March/April 2012 to discuss the establishment of a Community-led National Disaster organisation.
