Partnerships in Early Childhood (PIEC) is a program run by The Benevolent Society in conjunction with child care and preschool organisations in NSW and Queensland. Through staff development and support for parents, PIEC
aims to improve the quality of early education and care and, in so doing, enhance children’s social and emotional development. The focus is on building nurturing and supportive relationships between children and adults.

This research snapshot presents the results of an evaluation undertaken by the Social Policy Research Centre at the University of New South Wales, which explored the impact of PIEC on children and their families, and the effectiveness of the service model.
