30 January 2007As the first major external review of the Department of Defence in almost a decade, this report represents a rare opportunity to bring in outside perspectives to improve the performance of the organisation. There is much at stake. Not only does Defence spend almost $20 billion of taxpayer's money each year, but it plays a critical role in Australia's security.

Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (the ACNC) starting in July 2012

In May 2011 the Federal Government announced that the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) would commence operations from 1 July 2012 and that it would initially be responsible for determining the legal status of groups seeking charitable, public benevolent institution, and other not-for-profit (NFP) benefits on behalf of all Commonwealth agencies.
