04 May 2011This report makes a case that federal websites can and should be an efficient, cost-effective means of furthering our country's democratic ideals.

In the following report, ForeSee Results applies the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) methodology to quantify the following assertions:

1. Good government websites save the government money by increasing usage, which increases efficiency and effectiveness. (page 3)

2. Good government webstes foster democratic ideals. (page 4)

3. It is possible to increase efficiency and drive return on e-gov investment by scientifically prioritizing which website elements are most critical. (page 4)

Finally, this report also provides a breakdown of satisfaction scores for 110 individual government websites, and, for the first time this quarter, the authors have also included online transparency scores in this report because of the relationship between online transparency and website satisfaction.
