| Report of an audit of the Australian Institute of Music |
12 April 2010The Australian Institute of Music is in a challenging phase of development. With the resolution of a dispute over the ownership, the organisation is in a process of settling and consolidating. It is with this background that the Australian Universities Quality Agency's Audit Panel has recommended that the Institute undertake another AUQA audit by March 2011. The change of ownership has seen a number of senior staff and external academic representatives depart, and this provides the new senior management team with an excellent opportunity to redefine the academic agenda of the Institute.
This report of the audit by AUQA of the Australian Institute of Music (the Institute or AIM) provides an overview, and then briefly details the Audit Panel's main findings, and its commendations, affirmations and recommendations.
A brief introduction to the Institute, including its mission, vision and principles, is given in Appendix A; the mission, objectives, vision and values of AUQA in Appendix B; membership of the Audit Panel in Appendix C; and abbreviations and definitions used in this Report in Appendix D.
