Rowville rail study

09 March 2012 | The draft report is a culmination of a series of investigations by the study team and aims to provide the most comprehensive understanding and in-depth analysis undertaken into building a rail line to Rowville.
This report summarises the work of the first stage of the Rowville Rail Study. The first stage of the study has investigated the feasibility of a suburban rail line from Huntingdale to Rowville in the Wellington Road corridor.
The study is a result of an election commitment by the Baillieu Government. Objectives of the study include:
- ‘Understanding future patronage demand in Monash and Knox in the medium and long term
- Exploring improved integrated transport and land use opportunities
- Providing a concept for the proposed Rowville railway line interfacing with the existing Dandenong railway line at Huntingdale railway station.’
