In fact, author and freelance journalist, Margaret Simons, describes the term as 'manifestly inadequate', because it offers so little differentiation. She says there's now an urgent need for a new vocabulary for internet-based publications. And being no slouch herself, she's taken her own initial stab at drawing up a list of the different types of online sites that classify as blogs. She's come up with nine."
