Programming the arts: is it for you or for your audience?

30 September 2009The event, held on 17 September 2009, featured Alan Brown from the USA, artistic directors Kate Champion and Bruce Gladwin, and the ABC TV’s Fenella Kernebone as facilitator.

Video of the event is divided into three parts.

In the first part, Alan discusses his recent research into the intrinsic impacts of live performance and asks the question: “What is the role of audience feedback in an artistically driven organisation?”.

In the second part, Kate and Bruce provide their initial responses to the idea of using audience surveys to inform their creative work.

In the third part, Kate and Bruce talk about how their experience as audience members informs their work. The panel then considers the potential use and misuse of audience surveys and responds to audience questions.
