equity101

30 November 2009equity101 is a repository of social inclusion policies, programs and research in education as well as a forum for social inclusion discussion and debate, for education researchers, practitioners, teachers, senior managers and policy makers.

In consultation with key stakeholders, the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) has been tasked to develop equity101: a site supporting dynamic collegial networks and providing opportunities to better locate information and scholarship for our growing community. The equity101 site offers a centralised online portal, which seeks to facilitate increased collaboration, opportunities for evolving discussions, awareness of social inclusion news and events, and dissemination of scholarship on widening participation and student equity issues. Capitalising on the web 2.0 environment, equity101 uses social networking software to support collaborative development, through wikis, blogs, and groups – even allowing free web space for issue-specific group pages.  This site also offers expert and community reviews of texts in key categories, allowing users to easily find and identify relevant and leading scholarship.

This site aims to better facilitate collaboration and research for those from around the world with interests in widening participation, student equity and social inclusion in education, while also raising the profile of those who work in the field as practitioners and managers.
