| HTML | I Vote For Choice |
28 September 2010Women’s Health Victoria, together with a number of other Victorian women’s health services, has developed the I Vote For Choice website to enable users to send a message of support or disappointment to their local MPs, depending on how they voted on abortion law reform in 2008.
Following a long and committed campaign by abortion law reform advocates in Victoria, the Abortion Law Reform Act was passed in October 2008, bringing the law relating to abortion into line with existing clinical practice and community attitudes. It reformed a law that had been in place since 1889 that put women and their doctors at risk of criminal charges.
The website also includes some background information on abortion.
Note: This website is an advocacy site and is not impartial information.
