My Politician

  • Keeping track of your politician for you

29 July 2010My Politician enables users to search the profiles of all the federal Australian politicians, including what and how well they are communicating via social media.

You can quickly locate statistical and contextual information about politicians in your electorate and compare them with other politicians across the country.

This site is designed to provide alternate methods to rate politicians than more traditional methods.

Day to day politicians have a choice to utilise technology to communicate with the members of their constituencies. Whether they do that or not is something My Politician will try to monitor and promote.

Ultimately the long term view is to change the way voters in Australia view their role in local politics. Should it be about the party view or how well your sitting Member or Senate representative stands up for your electorate? Most likely it is a balance between both, however not enough is being shown over the length of their tenure to rate and provide feedback on how people feel they are doing.
