The site has a unique 'look and feel', which is further enhanced by an ergonomic design. Most importantly, it includes new features for a range of different audiences, including statisticians, policymakers, researchers, journalists and the general public.

New features of the site include:

  • a document library with advanced search options that centralizes all UIS publications and statistical reports featuring UIS data that are produced by other organizations;
  • country profiles presenting data on literacy, research and development, as well as education;
  • a glossary in four languages of statistical terms in the fields of education, science and technology, culture, and communication;
  • interviews with our statisticians on UIS data and programmes;
  • a calendar and archive of UIS training workshops and expert meetings.
