About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assessment and Compliance Officer in the Mineral Exploration Branch. The Assessment and Compliance Officer is responsible for delivering regulatory services to meet industry, government and community needs arising from the mineral exploration sector in South Australia. The position is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Accelerate Discovery Initiative including quality assessment, regulatory and compliance services in accordance with legislative requirements and environmental standards that meet government/community expectations. The position contributes to building relationships between stakeholders including exploration companies, community groups and other agencies to facilitate an effective regulatory environment for mineral exploration operations.
Key selection criteria:
- Experience working with environmental, regulatory or resource legislation
- Knowledge of the mineral exploration or resources sector
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people, building productive working relationships to contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, positively influencing stakeholders
A degree in geoscience, environmental science, or environmental management relevant to the resources industry
