Government's social media policy reprehensible and absurd, civil libertarians say

Public servants Social media Freedom of speech Australia

Unions and civil liberties groups have described the federal government's new social media policy for public servants as reprehensible and absurd, saying it could even be in breach of the Constitution.

The new policy prohibits the liking or sharing of anti-government material on any social media platform and could see workers demoted - or even sacked - over any breaches.
