The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced that it will not oppose a proposed bid for the Ten Network by current shareholders, Bruce Gordon and Lachlan Murdoch.

ACCC Chairman, Rod Sims, says the News Corporation factor was the single debate when considering if the proposal would lessen media competition.

Sims said Ten's competitors, including the ABC, made submissions to the ACCC in the lead-up to the decision.
