South Australia has eight Regional Development Australia Boards (RDA) working in partnership with federal state and local governments to support the economic development of their regions and the state more broadly.

If elected in March 2018 a Marshall Liberal Government will enter a longer term agreement with the RDAs under which State funding of $3 m per annum will be provided in each of the 2018- 19, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 financial years. Under this arrangement, each RDA will be required to submit a four-year business plan. This arrangement will enhance collaboration between the RDAs, encouraging them to undertake work on a wider range of cross-regional issues and economic development projects.
