Michael Poulsen


Mike Poulsen has throughout his academic career focused on quantitative methods of information extraction from spatial data.  His research focus has been on quantitative, statistical, computing and GIS skills. Environment is defined as the problem context, where we have both a localised space-time environment and  a wider space-time environment. As a result different methods for acquiring information from spatial data have been developed, with the application area that of ethnic concentrations. Over the last decade he has worked on this research project with Professor Johnston (University of Bristol) and Associate Professor Jim Forrest (Macquarie University), publishing approximately 50 papers.
