This is a central role in the Ministry’s Pacific and Development Group tasked with ensuring that New Zealand is engaged and influential on international development policy issues and that our international development cooperation commitments are reflected within New Zealand’s policy and practice.
You would be the Ministry’s lead on international development and Official Development Assistance (ODA) analysis and policy. You will maintain New Zealand’s relationship, strategy and policy engagement with the OECD Development Assistance Committee and other relevant international development fora. You will support New Zealand’s positioning on international development policy issues in multilateral and regional fora. You will coordinate the Ministry’s work to promote policy coherence for development across the New Zealand system. You will support the application of effective development cooperation principles within New Zealand’s development cooperation policy and practice.
We seek a person with a strong background in public policy leadership and development cooperation practice. You will have excellent analytical and policy skills and proven experience in engaging and influencing leaders, institutions and people. Strong existing familiarity with critical international development issues will be an advantage.
