ASIS&T Student Volunteers

Description

We are seeking student volunteers for the 82nd Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held 19-23 October 2019, in Melbourne, VIC, AU. The student volunteer opportunity includes free registration for the Annual Meeting which is valued up to US$485. If you are interested in volunteering, we highly encourage you to send in your application as soon as possible, and not later than 19 July, through the online form.

What’s involved?

Student volunteers will assist staff with tasks such as organizing meeting materials, staffing the registration desk, assembling meeting bags, monitoring sessions, providing directions and assistance to attendees, collecting tickets at certain events, packing materials, supporting meeting logistics, and the like.

Volunteers will be expected to work for a total of 24 hours over at least four of the six days of conference preparation and execution (18-23 October). The remaining time students are free to attend meeting sessions and will have the opportunity to request specific sessions to monitor on a first-come, first served basis.

Student volunteers are required to attend an online orientation prior to the meeting as well as an on-site planning meeting.

Qualifications:

  • There are a limited number of these positions and preference will be given to those students with the most availability.
  • Applicants will be notified if they are selected by July 26 at the latest.
  • Applicants must be enrolled as a student and be a member in good standing of ASIS&T at the time of application and the time of the meeting.
