Call for abstract submissions now open! You are invited to submit an abstract proposal for the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) Conference, to be held in Melbourne on 9-12 June 2020. In submitting an abstract we ask that you identify how your work can help answer our question of what is a good life for families. The conference will showcase and share research, be a catalyst for national conversations, and chart a course for the wellbeing of families towards 2050.
Conference theme: What is a good life for families? And how do we get there?
We are accepting presentations, roundtable sessions or symposia on a diverse range of issues affecting family wellbeing.
The program will be broke up into six sub-themes:
- Family policy and service system challenges
- Balancing work and family
- Health and wellbeing over the life course
- Communities and social cohesion
- Family threats, vulnerabilities and trauma
- Family Law: Challenges and solutions
The Conference Review Committee is looking for abstracts from a range of sectors and professions. The Committee encourages Indigenous researchers or practitioners, or PhD students to submit an abstract proposal. Scholarships may be available to assist with travel and conference registration fees.
We encourage submissions that are multidisciplinary and involve cross-sector collaboration. We also encourage presentations that use innovative methods and participant engagement.
Call for submissions will close on Monday 21 October 2019.
