ANROWS is calling for session proposals for our 3rd National Research Conference on Violence against Women: Evidence in Action. About the conference theme: This conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, policy-makers, and survivor-advocates to discuss “what works?” The theme ‘Evidence in Action’ will open up opportunities to reflect on what works for whom and in what circumstances, and how we know an initiative has been effective. These reflections will inform conversations about the way in which evidence is being applied in policy and practice to reduce violence against women and their children.
Our approach: conversational panels
ANROWS recognises that practitioners, policy-makers and researchers are most successful as agents of change when they work in partnership. To that end, rather than featuring single-author presentations, the conference will be structured around conversational panels across five themes:
- Sexual violence
- Perpetrator programs and interventions
- Services and systems
- Experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children
- Engaging men.
Submissions open: 23 September 2019
Submissions close: 4 November 2019
