The Promising Practice Profiles (PPP) is a component of the cross-strategy national evaluation of the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy 2004-2009. The aim of the PPP is to identify, document and disseminate descriptions of best practice or 'what works' in the field of early childhood and community development in order to improve outcomes for children and their families.
By documenting effective practices in early childhood, early intervention and community development, the PPP evaluates the capacities of the various contributing programs and services, highlighting different capacities across programs to produce outcomes-based data, emphasising the importance of reflective practice and evaluation, and encouraging proactive identification, collection and presentation of evidence.
This report sets out information about the PPP background and process and the results of the call for promising practice proposals. It then presents the analysis of promising practices, grouped by program target group.
