Quad bikes are now the leading cause of preventable machinery-related death on Australian farms, with more deaths from quad bikes than tractors or any other farm-related machinery.

This paper provides a review of child deaths in quad bike incidents and recommendations to improve quad bike safety.

The findings are based on a review of the deaths contained in the Queensland Child Death Register between 1 January 2004 and 30 April 2012.
