The purpose of this paper is to invite the public to share information with us to help us better understand violence against, and abuse, neglect, and exploitation of, people with disability from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The Commission wants to better understand how to improve responses when they do occur.
The Commission also wants to hear about challenges and barriers, as well as good practices, and ways to better prevent and reduce violence against, and abuse, neglect and exploitation of, culturally and linguistically diverse people with disability. This includes a person’s interaction with systems and services, such as education, health, immigration, justice, transport, workplaces, group homes and other accommodation arrangements, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It also includes their relationships with those around them and their participation in the community.
More information about how to respond to this issues paper is at the end of the publication.
