The Workplace Health and Safety Representative (HSR) document details the duties of HSRs. HSRs are elected staff members who act as a formal communication channel for their fellow staff. HSRs must represent the views of the staff group regarding strategies to improve the health and safety of their workplace. HSRs must be included as members the health and safety committee at their workplace. A list of HSRs must be displayed in the workplace and a copy must be provided to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. HSRs must be supported by their employer to obtain current workplace health and safety training as approved by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. HSRs can issue provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) which are a written directions pertaining to the resolution of workplace health and safety issues. Any PIN issued must be recorded and maintained by the health and safety committee at the workplace.
