This research puts Victoria's alcohol culture under the microscope to examine, in a non-judgemental way, why alcohol is such a central part of our lives. It aims to inform a new conversation about alcohol, one that moves beyond blaming the individual.
This project lays the foundation stone for the long road ahead to change our attitudes towards harmful drinking and ultimately improve the health of all Victorians.
RMIT University undertook the research with a VicHealth Innovation Research Grant. The study has generated a number of ideas about the way to tackle Australia's drinking problem.
