Description
Jeff McMullen, chair of the Ian Thorpe Fountain for Youth which is involved in improving educational and health outcomes, explains how literacy can mean life in remote Aboriginal communities. He writes, ‘Doctors have told me that every extra year of education for a young woman may add up to four year's to the life expectancy of her child. It’s a different take on literacy isn’t it?’
