%X Prime Ministers have long turned to a big vision when trying to shore up their stocks with voters or their own party. That usually means throwing their support behind big infrastructure projects, like fast trains or second airports.
$75 billion has been committed to infrastructure in the 2017 budget over the next ten years - to build, among others things, the long-debated airport for Western Sydney, as well as an inland rail link between Melbourne and Brisbane.
But should we be sceptical about the political commitment and financing for these new nation building projects?
