How the wealthy give: comparisons between Australia and comparable countries

5 May 2005
Description

In late 2004 the Centre was commissioned by the Petre Foundation to write a report comparing giving by wealthy Australians with that of their counterparts in other places. Denis Tracey and Christopher Baker found that, in general, the wealthy in Australia are not contributing as generously as they could and arguably as they should. A further report (17) (Word document) examined strategies and ideas that have been used in Australia and other countries (mainly the US and UK) to persuade wealthy people to be more philanthropic.
